Meet the Partners: ITI/CERTH
The Information Technologies Institute (ITI), as a part of Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), is one of the leading Institutions of Greece in the fields of Informatics, Telematics and Telecommunications. Since 1998, ITI has participated in a great number of Research and Development projects funded by European Public investment funds and Services contracted by firms and other private legal entities. ITI’s research teams have shown remarkable scientific work through a number of publications including scientific publications in international journals, publications in conferences, books and book chapters.
M4D, operating within MKLab as one of ITI’s laboratories, is the entity participating in DiMAT Project. M4D develops cutting-edge research algorithms and novel solutions in the areas of Multimodal data Fusion, Web data Mining, Big data, Multimedia Understanding, Artificial Intelligence and Multimodal analytics for Arts & Media, Security, Health, Earth Observation, Smart Manufacturing and Migration domains. In DiMAT, M4D is the Project Coordinator, bearing the role and responsibility of coordinating the implementation of the project’s actions, both on technical and administrative level.
Aside from that, M4D is also involved in development of the DiMAT Materials Modeler toolkit (MM). This toolkit aims to model materials data, predict material properties and behavior, and suggest improved materials using ML techniques. The group also plays a key role in integrating Explainable AI (XAI) techniques to improve the accuracy of materials behavior predictions, ensuring a robust and transparent explanation of the key parameters affecting their properties and structure through causal inference mechanisms.
