DiMAT’s Next Chapter: Paving the Market Adoption Journey – F6S Innovation
Ellie Shtereva, 10th Decemeber 2025, F6S Innovation
We are thrilled to highlight a new opinion article penned by our Exploitation Manager, Ellie Shtereva, published on F6S Innovation!
In her insightful piece, “DiMAT’s Next Chapter: Paving the Market Adoption Journey,” Ellie delves into the successful transition of the EU-funded DiMAT project from a robust pilot phase to its ambitious journey toward market adoption.
The Future of Manufacturing is Digital
Ellie emphasizes that DiMAT, Digital Modelling and Simulation for Design, Processing and Manufacturing of Advanced Materials, is set to revolutionize the materials manufacturing sector. She highlights the project’s powerful offerings:
Three Suites of Nine Innovative Digital Tools: Accessible via a single, intuitive Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform, making advanced capabilities accessible and affordable, especially for SMEs.
Focus on Sustainable and Efficient Production: The AI-driven tools accelerate design cycles, optimize complex processes, and enhance sustainability by addressing challenges like the efficient use of materials and precise control over manufacturing lines.
Market Readiness and Early Success
“We’ve seen excellent results in our pilot environments,” Ellie states in the article. She points to the rigorous testing across four pilots (polymer, composite, glass, and graphite) and the strategic focus on finalizing commercial readiness.
A cornerstone of the strategy is the Early Adopters Programme, where manufacturing companies actively co-created the solutions. This invaluable, focused feedback confirmed the high relevance and significant added value of the tools, with participants formally committing to future use:
- Elvez validated the critical need for a Centralized Cloud Material Database (CMDB) and predictive simulation for regrind materials.
- Lam’On emphasized the strategic value of process optimization using the Knowledge Acquisition Framework (KAF) and the Digital Twin for Process Control (DTPC).
- Organic Steel expressed keen interest in leveraging the Material Modeler (MM) for sustainable material substitution.
This direct industry input is actively shaping the final development roadmaps, ensuring the solutions precisely meet evolving market demands.
The DiMAT platform is already available to the public. The next chapter is about empowering an entire industry to thrive through intelligent, data-driven solutions.
