DiMAT at Glasstec 2024 International Trade Fair

DiMAT partner, Fraunhofer IWM participated at the Glasstec 2024 to bring transformative innovations in glass processing to the global stage.

Under the unifying theme “#WeAreGlass,” DiMAT and Fraunhofer IWM held a prominent presence in Hall 11 / G04, showcasing leading-edge research and development, including laser glass bending technology and high-precision glass heating processes developed with HEGLA HANIC.

Key members Kou-I Chang, Dirk Helm, and Tobias Rist welcomed over 32,000 attendees, including industry executives and research enthusiasts, to explore how DiMAT’s technologies are addressing some of the industry’s toughest challenges.

Through interactive sessions, visitors discovered advancements in material properties and processes that prevent glass breakage, reshaping float glass with a precision comparable to sheet metal.

DiMAT’s display, part of a collaborative setup with other R&D leaders and HVG-DGG, exemplified the commitment to future-ready solutions focused on sustainability, digitalisation, and the circular economy. The exhibit resonated with Glasstec’s goals, enabling connections with professionals from 121 countries and advancing new technologies that promise to drive sustainable growth across the glass industry.
