DiMAT at MSE Congress 2024: A Successful Presentation by Fraunhofer IWM

DiMAT partner, Fraunhofer IWM, had a successful session at the Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) Congress 2024, which took place from the 24th to the 26th of September in Darmstadt, Germany.

Matthias Büschelberger, a representative from Fraunhofer IWM, presented “The Dataspace Management System (DSMS): An End-User Application for FAIR Data Handling and Data Enrichment in Materials Science.” The presentation was well-attended, sparking vibrant discussions and receiving great interest from the audience.

The DSMS is an innovative solution designed to address the complexities of data management in materials science, particularly in sectors such as steel and copper manufacturing. It leverages semantic technologies to handle, enrich, and streamline data across disciplines, enabling scalable and user-friendly data spaces. Through technologies like the Semantic Material Card, DSMS ensures efficient data orchestration, which is pivotal for manufacturing data provenance and cross-discipline collaboration.

We thank all attendees for their interest and engagement, as well as for the fruitful discussions that followed the presentation. The exchange of ideas and enthusiasm further demonstrated the importance of innovative solutions like DSMS in addressing today’s data challenges in materials science.
