Meet the Suite Leaders: CETMA
The second chapter of the DiMAT Suite Leader Series highlights the Suite 2 role in the DiMAT Project. Suite 2 is represented by CETMA and the interview is made to Leonardo Cosma.
In this new series we will introduce DiMAT solutions called Suites. Each DiMAT Suite will consist of 3 toolkits. They are designed to meet all the production needs of material manufacturing companies.
This interview is focused on the role of in the DiMAT project, talking about which Suite it is leading, how are the toolkits within it connected, how are they different or better from what exists out on the market and also how it is helping SMEs.
The DiMAT Modelling and Design Suite – DiMDS
This suite is a powerful collection of digital technologies for material design, created to revolutionize how we predict and model material behavior before manufacturing even begins.
What is DiMDS?
DiMDS is designed to improve material designs, reduce errors, and optimize material usage throughout the design and modeling process. It enhances ROI in personnel training and boosts productivity by reducing the time and resources needed for complex material design tasks.
This suite consists of three interconnected toolkits, each playing a crucial role in the overall process:
- DiMAT Materials Design Framework (DiMDF): An ontology-based open knowledge system that supports material design, accessible through DiMAT Open Cloud Materials.
- DiMAT Materials Modeler (DiMM): A modeling tool that helps rapidly discover and design competitive materials, saving time while ensuring high performance.
- DiMAT Materials Designer (DiMD): This tool provides a high-level assessment of both environmental and economic impacts, guiding sustainable material design decisions.
How does DiMDS stand out?
In the interview, Leonardo Cosma dives into how these toolkits are interconnected to form a cohesive workflow, offering more advanced, user-friendly solutions than what’s currently on the market. He also discusses how DiMDS is tailored to help SMEs. By streamlining material design processes, this suite allows smaller companies to compete with larger firms, offering real examples of success stories from pilot cases.
This interview offers valuable insights into the DiMAT scope and objectives, making it easier for the general public to understand our purpose.
